WALKING & HIKING
For some as much a sport as an excellent form of exercise, the benefits of walking are beyond question. Studies have proved that it lowers cholesterol and blood pressure, reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke, as well as helping to maintain bone density, and even adding up to 6 years to your life. Walking is essentially an endurance activity, requiring only minimal amounts of strength and flexibility and no skill at all. However, this is not to say that taking up walking on a regular and relatively intense level does not require some special nutritional consideration.
